Frequently Asked Questions About Permanent MakeupHow long does the procedure take? Each procedure will take between 1and 2 hours. A follow up visit will be scheduled for 6 weeks later. How long does permanent cosmetics last? This procedure is permanent, although some clients will experience some fading after several years. You might return for a touch up after 3 to 5 years. Is this procedure painful? A topical anesthetic is used which makes the procedure far more comfortable than anticipated. A second topical is applied after the skin is broken. Will I have to take time off from work? No. There is minimum swelling and redness and ice is applied to help alleviate these side affects. Also an ointment is applied for several days following the treatment. I have very thin eyebrows. Will permanent cosmetics look natural? Yes. Permanent make-up looks more natural than eyebrow pencils. The color will appear very dark during the healing process, but will lighten approximately 50% after the first week. The lip color sometimes disappears completely after one week and slowly reappears each week during the healing process. What is the sterilization process for this type of procedure? We use only single use, sterile needles for each client. All other equipment is either discarded or put in an autoclave after each use. All guidelines are strictly followed in accordance with the CDC (Center for Disease Control). How are the colors chosen for each procedure? Your natural skin color, hair color and eye color are taken into consideration when choosing a color. If you have a favorite color cosmetic, please bring it in and we will try to match it. Can I wear make-up after the procedure is done? Yes. We prefer you use new mascara if you are having an eyeliner procedure done to prevent the transfer of bacteria. |
